The most powerful german salvage tug
The Nordic is considered to be the most powerful, German deep-sea mining trawler. From its Basishafen Cuxhaven is the tugboat responsible for the sea positions north of the island Norderney.
After the accident of the freighter Pallas, the German "Seenotschleppkonzept" was revised in 1998. At the turn of the year 2010/2010, Nordic replaced the outdated Oceanic. The modern tugboat achieves a top speed of 20 knots and reaches all positions of the German Bay within two hours. The ship is equipped with a so-called citadel, a gas and explosion protection, which allows the Nordic to operate also in highly inflammatory or health-threatening environment.
